The OAA provides opportunities for former students to maintain contact with each other, to enjoy fellowship within the School, their year cohort and the general OAA community. The OAA also regularly supports the School's educational endeavours as, for example, in 2002 when they generously gave money to enable three students to undertake the Music Tour to UK and Ireland. Without this subsidy support these students could not have toured and therefore they would have missed the learning and performance opportunities provided by the tour.
Students concluding their education at St Andrew's may become financial members of the OAA after they graduate from Year 12. OAA members receive a membership certificate, an OAA badge and other membership gifts; which the Year 12 students receive at the Valedictory Service. Full life membership costs $180.00.
Financial membership enables the OAA to maintain contact with its members through publications and notices and to conduct year reunions and social gatherings such as the Annual Dinner, the OAA Sports Day and the OAA Cathedral Service. Membership also generates funds to provide scholarship and bursary support to the School in the long term. Continuing contact with members will concentrate on email and E-communication processes.
During each calendar year, 5-year, 15-year, 25-year and decade dinners are held. A cocktail party for past School Captains and Vice Captains is also hosted by the School.
Former students can update their address, telephone and electronic contact details or if you are not already a financial member please contact the OAA.
