1940 – 1949
In 1939 the School moved from the Old Deanery into the Worker Building, a disused printing works that occupied a building approximately located at the current School entrance in St Andrew's House. Students initially entered the building from Kent Street and used an adjoining playground onto St Andrew's Place which was a short cul-de-sac off Bathurst Street adjacent to the western Cathedral door. A World War 2 military hostel that had been located in the Worker Building was closed in 1948 enabling the School to occupy the top floor and expand its student numbers to around 100 boys, including twenty-four choristers. The School entry was then re-located to St Andrew's Place. The School remained in the Worker Building until 1965.
