Programme
The OAA wishes to progressively expand the contact and support given by former students to assist current pupils as they prepare to leave school for tertiary study or to seek employment. Student mentor programs can play an important developmental role in assisting students as they review post-school learning and vocations.
A range of options are provided in this mentoring capacity through the students' participation in City Links placements, through liaison with the School's career advisor and via informal mentor systems operated through the School's Christian Development program.
Following suitable review and necessary screening processes, participating mentors can give practical advice and contribute their own experiences to senior students. In certain instances such programs have incorporated talks and presentations from business or professional men and women based in the City, including persons who are committed Christians and who will see their profession or work experiences as a practical witness for their Christian faith.
Former students who wish to be considered for service in a mentor role should contact the School Careers Advisor.
