Ronald G Mills OAM
It is with great regret and sorrow to inform you that Old Andrean Ronald G Mills OAM (1959), passed away on Monday 10 November 2008 at 90 years of age.
Ron was born in England in 1918 and travelled with his family to Australia in 1926. Ronald was a Cathedral Chorister from 1929 to 1933. His outstanding commitment to the Cathedral Choir continued, singing with the Choir for an additional 54 years before retiring as its longest serving member. On two special occasions he was honoured to sing for Her Majesty the Queen.
He was married to his wife Iris for 39 years.
After 33 years in the Royal Australian Air Force, he retired in 1974 with the honorary rank of Group Captain.
He was an active community volunteer and was awarded an OAM in 1987 for his 30 year service to Legacy and Regular Defence Welfare Association.
Ronald’s funeral will be held on Monday 17 November 2008 at St James King Street, Sydney at 10.30am. Please continue to keep Ronald’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
