Huw Belling '03 Composes for the ANZAC Day Service

Congratulations to Mr Huw Belling, St Andrew’s Cathedral School’s Composer in Residence and Old Andrean of the 2003 cohort, who was chosen to compose an anthem for the ANZAC Day Service at Westminster Abbey in London.

Below is the letter sent to Mr Heath from the Acting High Commissioner, Frances Adamson.

The Succentor of Westminster Abbey, Graeme Napier, has informed me of your very generous decision to give permission for Huw Belling of your school staff to attend this year’s ANZAC Day Service at Westminster Abbey in London.

The ANZAC Day Commemorative Service is one of the most important occasions in the High Commission’s calendar, and I look forward to the first performance of Mr Belling’s anthem.

I would like to convey the High Commission’s appreciation to you and Ms Chris Belshaw for allowing Mr Belling to fly to London for the occasion, particularly as I know his absence will put extra pressure on other members of your staff.

I also look forward to welcoming Mr Belling at the High Commission for our annual ANZAC Day reception which is organised by the Australian Defence Staff.

Thank you once again.
