Matthew Levy '06 Wins Gold
St Andrew’s Cathedral School is over the moon following added news of Olympic glory, as Matthew Levy brings home his Gold medal from the Beijing Paralympics swimming Men’s 4 x 100m Medley Relay event.
Matthew has ‘jumped in the pool’ with great success, the icing on the cake was the news of his world record breaking time of 4:11.90. He has also managed to compete in the Finals of three other events, including the Men’s 50m Freestyle, Men’s 200m IM and Men’s 100m Freestyle.
Matthew was fortunate to compete at the 2004 Athens Paralympics but was not successful in taking home a medal. However, his achievement at Beijing is a true testament to his undying commitment and hard work to seeing his dreams fulfilled.
St Andrew’s Cathedral School is looking forward to celebrating with Matthew on his return home.
